Nordstrom’s website has been down for the past several days, and there’s not much the brand can do about it.
Instead, the brand’s employees are posting on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram messages encouraging customers to send their daughter’s gift cards to the brand instead.
“I’m sorry you have to deal with this, but I have to go to work today,” one of the posts reads.
“I want you to get a gift card.
Please don’t give your daughter a gift certificate.”
Another post says, “If you have a gift for your niece, don’t leave it at home.
We’re going to take care of this for you.
Send your gift cards or money orders to Nordstrom, and let them know that we love you.”
Nordstrom’s statement read: We are in the process of closing our doors, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
We are working with our customers to resolve the issue.
We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note that this issue is currently being investigated.
